The success of the City’s quick-build communities has reduced street (unsheltered) homelessness in San José even as the aggregate numbers of unhoused residents––sheltered and unsheltered––has risen statewide. A total of 677 individuals have been housed and helped at San José’s quick-build interim housing communities the past two-and-a-half years, of which 212 individuals including families have successfully moved on to either transitional or permanent housing.
